I also extract pattern and shapes from my imagery in sketchbook pages. I then turn these drawings into woven fabrics for large scale interiors and interior accessories, bringing bright colours and fun textures into every day items. I particularly enjoy exploring the use of colour. Sustainable textiles has become increasingly important within my practice. The prime inspiration for my work was the repurposing and reuse of once useful but now discarded climbing ropes. These ropes in conjunction with surplus Fairfield yarns enabled me to create colourful and structural weaves suitable for a variety of interior purposes. Fashion Show The theme of the GSA 2019 Fashion Show was “Contradiction”. My collection was inspired by the Manchester skyline at dusk, the contradiction of the angular structures of the buildings and the softness of the sunset and clouds being reflected on the buildings
